Happy Nine Months Nicky!

I have to admit that I had to get out the calendar to figure out hold old Nicky was this month. Pretty much sums up my life right now - busy and unorganized! Needless to say, he is nine months old and we are getting ready to head to the doctors!

Honestly, if I get this post done in time, it will be a miracle. I just had to take a moment to pull Marlee's Sophia the First easel off his face.

If I could describe Nicky in one word it would be destructive.
All boy.
All the time.
Literally, just had to stop again because he managed to get into his walker - head first.

He is just a go, go, go baby. He wants to walk but is not quite ready so instead he just grabs and climbs on everything. If it is in his grasp, it is automatically his. Marlee is less than thrilled about this because God forbid anyone touch her things. He is getting stronger and smarter everyday though and I can tell he is learning more and more about his environment. For example, the microwave beep means he is getting a bottle. It is officially a bottle warmer and do not bother telling him any different.

New this month is his ability to clap and dance. If you have watched any of my YouTube videos (use the menu on the right!), you know that we are a big dance family. Marlee really shakes her groove thing. This month, I noticed Nicholas starting to do a little head bob and body wiggle. It is so darn cute and I am going to try and be quicker with my phone so I can get it on video. He also started clapping with Grandma while doing patty cake. Does not matter what is going on, he will stop and clap. Adorable!

Nicky has one more tooth coming in on the bottom which brings his count to seven teeth which is a good thing because he is big eater! No more pureed foods here. All 'adult' food, all the time. Messy little bugger though.

On the up side of things, we are down to four bottles per day and he is sleeping through the night 80% of the time. Cannot argue with that number! He is still up at five in the morning but he has been pretty good at sitting in his playpen so Nick can get ready (and I can get 10 minute of sleep!).

He really is such a good, happy boy.

Update: Doctors appointment went great! He is weighing in at 22lbs 4oz and is 29.5 inches tall. My big and tall baby. He had one vaccination today and didn't even cry - just gave an uncomfortable 'ehhh'. Dr. Weber gave the number for a pediatric ophthalmologist to unclog his tear duct so it looks like surgery could be in the near future. It breaks my heart to have it done (surgery is such a scary word!) but it has to be done. I can tell that it is more and more uncomfortable for him as the months go on. So wish us luck with our next venture!

Happy Nine Months Marlee

Marlee did not want to cooperate with pictures this month.
Or any month for that matter.
But today was extra difficult. She was in a bad mood and was not afraid to show it.
And add in the fact that I put shoes on her, total meltdown mode.
I did get to put her in these cute little jean shorts which made my day. I am trying to convince summer to hurry the heck up!

Marlee has reached the fearless stage in her life. She likes to jump off the couches, dive face first into hard objects, and just let go of the furniture - even though she does not know how to stand without support yet. So far she has a scratch on her chin, a bruise on her cheek, and a cut on her lip. And this all happened this week!
Future boxer? Possibly.

Still no teeth! I swear she has been teething since she was four months old. The drool! The fussiness! The chewing on everything and anything! Yet, no teeth. She is going to be gumby forever. I have to admit that I am terrified for these teeth to finally come in. She is going to chew holes in everything we own. Kinda like a sweet little, bad puppy.

She actually really is like a puppy. She now crawls all over the house pretty efficiently. She will follow me wherever I go. Which is good and bad. I always have creepy little eyes following me no matter what I am doing. Pee in peace? Not anymore! But at least I don't have to carry her from room to room now. Unfortunately, she is now destroying every room of the house. I found a bottle of wine just sitting in the middle of the dining room the other day. When did this happen? No idea. She is a sneaky little girl.
And has good taste, obviously.

Ok now for the real reason everyone reads the blog: picture time!

"What are these things on my feet mom?"

"Ok mom, you get one minute to take my picture."

"Times up! Mickey Mouse is on!"

"I am over this mommmmmm!"

"Ok, I am out of here."

Happy nine months Marlee! So excited to see what the future brings.
More stubborn personality and beautiful smiles, I am sure.

Nine Month Baby Oven

My sister called me a baby oven the other day and it made me chuckle, hence the title.

As this pregnancy is coming to a close, and I begin to feel Marlee shifting into position, I am realizing that not only will I have a bouncing baby girl soon, but I will also not have this giant belly of mine. Tying my shoes will no longer be a task and my husband will finally stop poking at my protruding belly button.

We started this pregnancy with taking a picture every week since we found out but we soon decided this task was bigger then we thought. The weeks literally started to fly by. In the words of Sweet Brown, ain't nobody got time for that.
Damn you Pinterest for setting the expectations for documenting pregnancy so high. Have you seen the chalkboard lady? Yeaaaa, I am a bit jealous of those cute chalkboards, trendy outfits, and the time this lady must have. Anyway, I digress.

I put together a small collage of each month of this pregnancy, hopefully portraying the joy I have had each month. I feel incredibly blessed to have had such an easy and smooth pregnancy and being able to share it with the people I love.
I will let you guess which month the doctor started scolding me for my weight gain...

I have to admit I am not ready for this journey to come to a close but the excitement of meeting Marlee is overwhelming at this point. She can come at any moment! I am asking her to wait  at least 12 days which is when my maternity leave starts. Then again, she might be the feature of my next post!

Doctors appointment tomorrow and hopefully everything continues to look good and I can get in another couple weeks of work. Updates then!
