Fall in Love

The fact that it is the end of October and I haven't made a post about how much I love fall is quite embarrassing. Its my absolutely favorite time of year.

What is there not to like?

The perfect day would consist of browsing a pumpkin patch with a hot chocolate in hand.

Well a lot more has happen this month which is probably why I have been so busy and unable to blog. And an amazing month none the less though! I'll give the quick run down...

I turned thirty and my family planned a surprise party which was embarrassing and incredibly sweet. I am lucky to be party of such an amazing family for thirty years!
I surprised my sister by heading up to Cleveland for her birthday and was apart of a bike bar crawl. I might have had more fun than anyone there! My face hurt from smiling so much. 

Marlee is doing incredible in preschool and loves it so much. She had Grandparents day and her first Harvest party which were so sweet. She also had her first dentist appointment which went wonderfully! No cavities and I cannot say enough nice things about All Seasons Dental. I was really impressed with the place. 

Nicky has started talking more which has subsided my fear of him needing therapy which is a story for another crazy day.

Isaac did not have the best first semester at Perry Middle school but is starting to bring his grades up which is a good thing since basketball is right around the corner and he will not be playing with poop grades!

The Cleveland Indians are in the World Series! If this doesn't get you excited, then nothing else I say on here will either. Series is 3-2 and we play again tomorrow!

We already purchased our pumpkins and were a little late decorating them but we finally did it! It was incredibly messy but so much fun. I love watching the kids get creative. 

Trick or treating was yesterday and today which means costumes and candy! Hot chocolate is a must after the chilly weather we are having! Poor Nick seems to have a stomach bug though and was not feeling well. He stayed home with the grandmas yesterday while the rest of us pillaged the neighborhood for treats. Our first trick or treat in the new house was a massive success. I really do love the place we have chosen to raise our family.
Today, we did our second Trick or Treat down in Magnolia and I was able to squeeze Nicky into the doctors costume. He was not thrilled but was along for the ride.  

And I still work like crazy which makes me a zombie for about 90% of the time. Luckily this time of the year, it is acceptable to look like a zombie!

Welcome October

October is my most favorite month of the year. 

I love the colors.

I love pumpkins.

I love Halloween.

I love my sister - and it is her birthday month!

It is also my birthday month but that is not as cool as everything else. 

Unfortunately, there is also never enough time to get everything done. It is already the 19th and I am just now making an October post! These last few weeks are jam packed full of work, doctors appointments, Trick or Treat (still have to make Marlee's costume!), and two baby showers! To top everything off, Nick is out of town this week so I am low on available time - and energy. Thank goodness for my mother and helping me organize the next couple weeks to get shit done!

We were able to make it to the pumpkin patch last weekend with our dear Moore friends. It was a blast as usual and although Marlee was a grump butt, we picked out a baby pumpkin and she was thrilled. Nicky loved the corn pit they had, even though I was constantly monitoring how much went into his mouth. We enjoyed the day as family should. 

The weather was perfect as you can see! I always regret not taking more pictures but I love being in the moment also. We have yet to cut/paint our pumpkins so hopefully I will get more pictures then. The kids are getting so big that I want to document everything! 

Especially fun in my most favorite month of all - October!

Halloween Roundup

Isaac was telling me for about twenty minutes that Marlee, who was happily watching TV in her swing, smelled like cupcakes. He swore that she smelled just like vanilla cupcakes. He wanted me to go smell her but I was right in the middle of making dinner. 

Nick had the pleasure of going to pick her up once she got a little fussy. Of course she had a bit of an explosion. Ok a huggge explosion. She had it up to her neck. And Isaac still swears that she smelled like cupcakes. 

Poo cupcakes apparently. 

So after giving Marlee a bath and washing up myself (yes it was that bad!), I finished dinner. 

(Pretty sure other food blogs do not have an opener like that. Boom.) 

Now back to dinner.

Tonight I made a Halloween dinner since we have been too busy to celebrate the holiday together. I made little mummy dogs by wrapping sausages with crescent rolls and did little jack-o-lantern pizza bagels! All Pinterest inspired of course. 

For dessert we had vanilla pudding made into candy corn and Frankenstein!

I just used food coloring for the yellow, orange, and green, cool whip for the white, and Oreos for the 'hair' on Frankenstein. Be sure to thaw the cool whip before using... should be self explanatory but of course my whip was hard as a rock. 

I also made pumpkin seeds but they were burnt and just gross so no pictures included.

I still ate half the batch.

Then on to the pumpkin carving! Isaac and Nicholas printed off a stencil and went to town.

Ok yea, she ate the pumpkin innards.

Then it was my turn to do Marlee's pumpkin and she 'said' that she wanted Minnie Mouse which is her favorite character from The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. 

I think they turned out great! Another year of my favorite holiday complete!

Tomorrow we are headed to the Massillon vs. Mckinley game and Isaac is going to see what high school football is really about! I am pretty sure there were 40 people at the last Sandy Valley game I went to. Sorry but it was nothing compared to the madness I grew up around. Marlee is going too so I am hoping the rain holds off.
